Area teens now have the chance to voice their concerns and bring about positive change in Lima.
Community Development Department intern, Andrew Chamberlain, is spearheading the creation of a teen advisory council for the city.
The goal is to develop a teen led group which will look at issues which teens face in their communities. The group will then develop projects to tackle the issues and affect positive change in the city. Similar groups in other parts of the country have been able to improve city policy, programs, and services.
The teen advisory council will be open to all teens between the ages of 14 and 18 who live, attend school, or worship in the Lima area. Events are being planned for April.
