Sam Shriver - Lima, OH News Weather Sports

Sam Shriver

Hi. I joined the news team in 2008 as a multimedia journalist. I enjoy every aspect of it from the storytelling to the investigations as I get the opportunity to shoot, script, edit, broadcast and package stories.

Born and raised in Van Wert, Ohio, I began my journey into journalism while in high school with a Television Production Curriculum. While attending Wright State University, I worked at WERT Radio. Since then, I've worked in radio as a news director, anchor, reporter, talk show host, station engineer and advertising sales representative. This experience helped me hone my reporting skills as I've interviewed everyone from former presidential candidates and other major political figures to nationally known sports figures, artists and writers.

My TV journalism career began in 1997 at WANE TV, Fort Wayne IN, where I worked as an Assignment Editor. I spent nine years planning and executing news team coverage. When I wasn't manning the assignment desk, you would find me voicing a commercial or PSA, as I was also the stations announcer.

Documenting events has always been a strong passion of mine and over the years I've covered just about every story imaginable. In November 2002, I witnessed an F- 4 tornado hit my hometown of Van Wert. My home video aired across the US and became part of one of Ohio's most well-documented tornados of all time.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife Lori and our two dogs, Buddy and Monroe.

It's my goal to keep viewers informed  so feel free to share your story ideas by sending me an email.
