Brandon Dubinsky scored with 22.5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and Nick Foligno's wrist shot just inside the blue line 2:49 into the extra session gave the Blue Jackets the win. The series moves back to Pittsburgh for Game 5 on Saturday night tied 2-2.
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2 last night. Alfredo Simon pitched into the seventh inning despite erratic control and Jay Bruce drove in a run for a fifth consecutive game. Jonathan Broxton pitched a scoreless ninth inning, despite allowing two hits, for his third save.
CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 5-3 last night. Jason Kipnis drove in Nick Swisher with a two-out double in the seventh inning. The Indians tacked on an insurance run in the eighth on pinch-hitter Lonnie Chisenhall's bloop RBI single.
CLEVELAND (AP) - Indians manager Terry Francona doesn't believe struggling starter Danny Salazar is tipping his pitches. Salazar brought up the possibility he was giving away his pitches following Monday night's loss to Kansas City. The right-hander was chased in the fifth inning, dropping him to 1-7 in 14 starts since he won his major league debut in July.
CLEVELAND (AP) - Kansas City Royals first-base coach Rusty Kuntz has had surgery on his broken left arm. He was struck by a line drive during pregame batting practice on Monday. Kuntz was standing behind a protective net in shallow center field when he was hit by a ball off the bat of Salvador Perez.
