A student from Bluffton University gets a big surprise when she got to work today.
Samantha Smith, who works at Auntie Anne's in the Lima Mall, was awarded a $5,000 scholarship from her employer.
She's studying early education at Bluffton University and hopes to teach second grade when she graduates.
She says the scholarship will help make her career goals come true.
"My mom recently just lost her job so they can't really take out loans, they take out loans but its hard for them so I figured if I applied for the scholarship and got it maybe they wouldn't have to take out the loan," Smith said.
Samantha has worked at Auntie Anne's for the past three years.
The company awards six scholarships nationwide each year, looking for students with strong character, achievements, and a strong commitment to achieving high personal, academic, and personal standards.
