Red Tails a hit for local Tuskegee Airmen enthusiast

The former president of the Ohio Memorial Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen weighs in on Hollywood's depiction of the brave African American pilots portrayed in the movie "Red Tails".
72 year old Preston Pugh originally wanted to be a pilot like the Tuskegee Airmen who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, but instead served in the Air Force as an aircraft loader from 1959 to 1967.
He became interested in finding out more about the history of the Tuskegee Airmen after he left the Air Force.
The movie chronicles the crew of black pilots as they overcome segregation in the shadow of WWII.
Pugh got a chance to view the film Friday night in Lima and says, for the most part, George Lucas got it right.
"It was a great movie, great documentary and very educational, very entertaining," said Pugh.
The George Lucas film "Red Tails", featuring Terrence Howard and  Cuba Gooding Jr., opened to much better than expected numbers, taking in more than 19 million dollars on opening weekend and finishing second only to the movie "Underworld-Awakening" which brought in more than 25 million dollars.
