Former students of Apollo Career Center are inducted into the schools Hall of Fame.

The career center opened back in 1976 and Thursday night, the school honored it's first superintendent, the late Fred Goare.  His family was there to accept his award and says Goare would still be proud of the school today.

"I think if my dad were here he would say all that he hoped for Apollo and the impact that it would have on our youth is exactly as he hoped it would be. I think he would say that the adult education program and the impact they're making there is much greater than he ever dreamed of," Laurie Swick, Goare's daughter, said.

Michael Blake and Kathy Thompson graduates of Apollo were inducted into the Hall of Fame.  Blake credits his success as a welder is thanks to the education he got at Apollo.

"Apollo has been one of the best things that could have ever happened in my life. I started welding when I was 9 years old I was able to polish my experience and expertise here in two years, hit a job market and never been without work ever since," Blake, said.

Paul Parthemore, a junior at Apollo received the Student Citizen of the Year award for his service to the school and the community.
