February is Children's Dental Health Awareness month and students from the Rhodes State College Dental School gave a presentation as part of their course work.
Children at Miramor School learned about their health and personal hygiene. Following a short movie, the dental students demonstrated proper brushing techniques using puppets with teeth. The event helped to promote oral health education for young children. Rhodes Dental Hygiene Professor Jill Hay says raising awareness about dental health in the schools is necessary.
The dental students created lesson plans and will also have to write a paper on their experience at the event.
