NEW BREMEN, OHIO -
Area manufacturers are still in need of qualified employees. Now, an area workforce group is dedicated to making those necessary qualifications easier to gain.
The West Central Ohio Workforce Development Initiative is helping manufacturers find skilled employees. The group is connecting local workers with the training needed to get a job as a welder or CNC operator. Applicants can apply for 10 week training programs which are held at Rhodes State College, Apollo Career Center, and Upper Valley Career Center. The first 10 week course started in January. However, a second session will start in March.
The workforce development initiative is focusing on employers in Auglaize and Mercer counties. Scholarships are available for the 10 week courses.
