Putnam Co. man dies three days after pond rescue

A Putnam County man dies three days after being rescued from a pond. Stanley Newton, 77, died Friday at St. Rita's Hospital.  

On Tuesday Newton fell through the ice on his pond while trying to rescue his Labrador retriever.  He was in the frigid water for about half an hour before rescue crews were able to get him out and to the hospital.
