VAN WERT, OHIO -
Plans are in the works for a hot air show festival during fair season.
Hot air balloons are expected to return back to the skies of Van Wert September 7th through the 9th as part of a new hot air festival.
The festival will feature fifteen hot air balloons taking off from the fair grounds and airport on all three days, with balloon glows during the evenings.
Organizer Jerry Mazur said the collaboration between the county's fair board and airport authority is all in an effort to bring dollars to the local area.
Aside from the hot air balloons, the festival plans to have attractions throughout the weekend such as helicopter rides, and several tournaments for all ages.
Mazur said he and other organizers are still seeking additional sponsorships for the festival.
