The Northside Neighborhood Association gathered Tuesday evening at St. Gerard's Church with a variety of issues to discuss.
It was a chance for residents to engage in open discussion with Mayor Berger and other administrative staff. Among one of the guest speakers was Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin. He spoke to the group about this year's crime statistics on the north side of Lima. Chief Martin had good news for the city regarding crime in the area. Statistically, there has been a downward trend in crime over the past 15 years, however there were 14 more reported crimes last year than in 2010.
Among other topics was an announcement from the Lima Fire Department, which received a 64,000 dollar grant from FEMA to help train fire officers.
