A Mercer County company has been slapped with fines
from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
OSHA has cited Basic Grain Products Incorporated with 13 safety violations for failing
to ensure a hazardous energy source. There was also a complaint by a
worker who was injured by a conveyor belt. The Coldwater based snack
food producer is facing fines of 112 thousands dollars. Prior to the
inspections where the violations were found, the company has been cited
12 times since 2001.
Basic Grain Products has 15 days to request an
informal conference on the citations.
