Julianne Frankhouser plans on opening the doors on the Guiding Light Teen Maternity home later this year. It's a project that's been in the works for several years. The building on South Main was once her childhood home and a non-profit run by her father. But soon, the home will house pregnant teens while teaching them the necessary skills of motherhood as well as helping them with college applications or job placement. Renovation costs were projected at over $15 thousand, but the community has helped keep that cost at a minimum.
Fundraising will continue for the home at the 3rd Annual Golf Classic at Springbrook Golf Club on June 9th. For the 2nd year in the row the event includes a chance at winning a car from Allan Nott with a hole-in-one contest.
