A Lima company faces possible penalties of more than 67 thousand dollars following a U.S. Department of Labor investigation.
Sign Source USA on S. Dixie highway has been cited for 26 safety and health violations by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The violations include exposing workers to fire and explosion hazards.
Eleven serious safety violations involve failing to remove wood and metal scraps from work areas that presented trip and laceration hazards, failing to provide machine guarding on router tables, failure to provide forklift training and the list goes on and on.
Several of the eight serious health violations involve fire and explosion hazards, including using paint spray booths with wooden beams covered in flammable materials and improperly discarding spray booth filters, rags and other materials with flammable residue.
The citations are the result of a safety inspection at the business on December 19th and a separate health inspection on January 5th.
When reached, a company spokesman had no comment on the allegations.
