A man found guilty of vehicular homicide could be facing deportation, after he serves some time in Mercer County Jail.
Jinghao Xu was sentenced to 180 days in the Mercer County Jail for causing the accident that claimed the life of 3 year old Aubrey Bruns. The judge says if Xu causes any trouble in jail that charge could be extended to 18 months in prison. But Xu is expected to be deported to either China or North Korea before his jail sentence is complete. Family members of Aubrey were in court and her father John, remembered his daughter.
There hasn't been a determination of why, Xu pulled out in front of the car driven by Hillary Hartings, which killed Bruns and sent her brother and sister to the hospital. Through an interpreter, he expressed his remorse for the accident.
The family is filing a civil lawsuit against Xu, the judge also ruled that his license will be suspended for 5 years if he remains in the country.
