Many things have changed since 9/11 and members of the VFW in Wapak want to make sure everyone remembers and future generations are educated on Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Plans are in the works to construct a monument at Veterans Memorial Park. It will be placed in between two trees close to the entrance and will be approximately seven feet tall. According to Post Commander, Ralph Reynolds, it's been a long run for the service men and women that have given the ultimate sacrifice. To date a total of 6,390 soldiers have fallen for Americans freedoms. They want to make sure those of Operation Iraqi Freedom are not forgotten
To make this monument plan into reality it will take money, they are looking to the public to help with that. For more information you can contact Ralph Reynolds at (419) 230-1517. A savings account has also been set up at the Home Savings Bank on Blackhoof Street in Wapak.
