Another effort many cities and organizations are undertaking to cut down on drug abuse is drop-off events where residents can safely get rid of their unused medications. A drug drop-off in Findlay gave residents the chance to do just that.
Drop off points included the Findlay Municipal Building parking lot. The drugs are collected and then catalogued and sorted by students in the pharmacy program at the University of Findlay.
Crime prevention officer for the City of Findlay Brian Dill says the idea is to get the drugs that are no longer needed off the streets.
The drugs collected from the event today will eventually be safely incinerated.
