Kids get free vision screenings from Lion's Club

Medications or something as simple as prescription glasses can help prevent serious problems down the road and the earlier those problems are found, the better.

To help catch early eye disease and failing eye-sight, the lions club held a free eye screening at Lima's Bradfield Center.

The Lion's Club is dedicated to detecting early problems in vision after making a pact with Helen Keller in the late 1920's.

Children ages three to five were welcome to come in for two styles of testing. The first, referred to as the sure-eye test, determined if the child was near sighted or far sighted. The second helped to determine whether the child was a possible candidate for some of the most common eye diseases.
