The renovations to the Auglaize County courthouse are coming right along and Thursday the County Commissioners took a tour to see the progress first hand. Commissioners were able to see rooms and visualize what the end result is going to look like and there will be a few minor changes throughout the courthouse. The one major difference will be entry into the building. Instead of a dozen or so entries into the courthouse there will be one entrance that will have scanner and a magnatomometer at the entrance that everyone will go through. It will be a change for some, but in the end it is all about safety.
"We want to ensure that all safeguard precautions are taken to make sure that everybody that is coming in is coming in without any kind of weaponry that they have on their person and so our courthouse security will make sure that is the case and everybody will be able to go on with their business in the courthouse." said County Commissioner Doug Spencer.
The Auglaize Sheriff's Department helped in the decision as to what kind of security measures would best fit the needs for the courthouse in Auglaize County.
