Prom season is upon us. Statistically, it is a dangerous time for young drivers.
To fight the problem before it becomes a actual problem, area law enforcement officials put on a mock car accident at Bath high school. Juniors and seniors watched as classmates acted out the scene. Two prom goers who had been drinking and caused an accident. Others leaving prom were the first to arrive on the scene and call 911. Every step of the process was shown to the students; from the initial emergency call to life flight and death.
Fortunately, Bath township has not had a tragic accident during this time frame. Fire chief Joe Kitchen accredits that to these type of educational events.
