Not a great day to be outside, but some rugged individuals with a great attitude set out today to help clean up the banks of the Ottawa River in Allen County.
Much of the effort was focused on the area near the Rotary Riverwalk.
Nearly 200 people participated in this year's cleanup effort, finding anything from paper.... to plastic bottles.... to tires along the riverbank.
Some of the participants used the cleanup to fulfill a community service requirement at their school.
Organizer Connie Miller says the cleanup effort really helps beautify the river.
The river cleanups have been going on since 1993.
