Starting Tuesday, under the 2012 amnesty program. Those who qualify are able to pay back taxes without penalties and only half the interest owed.
The program is the first for individuals in 6 years. During the last general tax amnesty in 2006, the state collected more than 60 million dollars. Joe Green of H&R Block says this program is a good fundraiser for the state, and provides an opportunity to make up on the taxes that can be accidentally overlooked.
Green says small business owners are also among those most likely to need to look into the amnesty program, which runs until June 15th.
