It's not easy to start up a business and keep it running in these economic times, but one Lima man and his family have done just that.
Jose and Sons Recycling on South Central Avenue has kept the doors open for a year now and decided to say thanks to the community for their business.
Jose Maldonado and his family cleared the area of trees, once known as the jungle, by hand and set up shop shortly thereafter.
Now a year later, they know it takes dedicated customers to run a successful operation.
Residents in the area are glad to see the business thriving. Especially those like John Miles who has lived in the neighborhood for more than 50 years.
As another way to say thank you to the community for its support, Jose and his family donated a total of $800 to the Boys and Girls Club of Lima and the West Ohio Food Bank.
