Event allows residents to safely and easily dispose of hazardous waste

Auglaize County residents had a chance to get rid of their household hazardous waste on Saturday.

People could drop off dead batteries, old tires, latex and oil based paints, appliances and other chemicals and herbicides.

The Household Hazardous Waste Day was organized by the Auglaize County Solid Waste District.

It's a great chance to keep these items from the landfill.

Most of the items were taken in for free, although there were charges to take the tires the old paint, and appliances that contained freon.
