We've seen a lot of old buildings come down in a certain part of Lima, now we are seeing one go up.
Work has started on the corner of Main and Kibby Streets in Lima, on a new prototype Dollar General store. Workers are getting close to pouring the stores foundation. Lima's Department of Community Development Director Amy Odum says this will be a "one- of-a-kind" store for Dollar General, something the city made sure of by negotiating into the deal to sell the land a store that will fit into the neighborhood. This new Lima location is a half million dollar project to be completed in 8 to 10 weeks.
The Tennessee-based Dollar General has 10-thousand stores in 40 states, making them the nation's largest small box discount retailer.
