For the past 24 years, Jim Reber has served as the president and CEO for Lima's Saint Rita's Medical Center. On Friday, Reber will step down, allowing Brian Smith to take over leadership of the hospital and its day-to-day operations.
To help remember all that Reber brought to the hospital, the rooftop garden was dedicated in honor of Jim and his wife Carol. With flowers, bushes, quotes and a fountain, trustee board members dedicated the Saint Rita's Reflection Garden, celebrating and honoring the loss of a colleague and a friend. Dedicating the garden to Reber and his wife seemed like a practical choice considering his 24-years at the hospital, and the fact that the couple truly enjoys gardening.
Honoring Jim and Carol Reber, Saint Rita's board members also created a dedication wall and piece of art, found just inside the door of the rooftop garden.
The next time you find yourself inside of the hospital, be sure to head to the top floor to reflect, relax, or admire the beauty of the garden.
