With warmer weather here to stay more people are making their way out to the water. With people fishing and boating, the Coast Guard is reminding people to wear their life jackets.
The Auxiliary Coast Guard post at Moundwood Ramp at Indian Lake, is pushing inflatable life jackets on to those boaters who bring their boats in for inspection.
While some life jackets are considered bulky and get in the way, inflatable jackets are small and light weight. Burl shoe-law demonstrated one of the jackets and explained why they are so effective.
While all life jackets are not built the same, all of them can still save a life. Life jackets of all varieties can be purchased at Walmart, K-Mart, or any sporting goods store that sells boating supplies.
