Today's economy is not what it used to be, and although it's getting better, thousands of people still struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet to and put food on the table. To help fill the cupboards with food, residents lined up outside of Rally Point Youth Center for a food giveaway. Family Focus in partnership with the West Ohio Food Bank, gave away boxes of food to those families in need on Saturday.
Carol Ish has a family of ten living in her home, with six kids under the age of 18 running around. For carol, there's nothing to be embarrassed about; she needs the food, and there's no reason to suffer because of pride.
Patrice Whitsid was also out today. Accepting assistance is something she is comfortable with, as she does it on a regular basis.
While area residents waited in line, volunteers were running back and forth, carrying the boxes of food to cars. Volunteering their time today were Stacey Romine and her daughter.
If you would like to volunteer your time or are in need of assistance, contact your area food pantry.
