LIMA, OHIO -
A warning is going out about the dangerous effects of Mother Nature and Psychotropic drugs.
Those taking medications like Anti-depressants or Beta Blockers are more prone to suffering from the effects of the sun.
That means more heat stroke and other problems when you spend a little too much time out in the warmer temperatures.
Medications like Effexor and Prozac can decrease the body's response to heat.
And many patients on these medications simply don't know about these risks.
Phil Atkins of Mental Health Recovery Services says this combination can be especially dangerous for some of their clients, many of whom spend a lot of time out in the elements.
The best advice for those taking any of these types of medications is to drink plenty of liquids and to avoid pro-longed activity out in the sun.
Also make sure to lay off coffee, tea and alcohol.
