St. Mary's, Ohio -
At St. Marys council meeting, the issue was brought up to mandate residents to file local tax returns. However, emotional outbursts didn't come from residents, it came from city council members.
City tax commissioner Joy Bond is looking to change the current ordinance that says that all men and women who live and work in Saint Marys, are exempt from filing a tax return. While the ordinance ruffled only a few feathers with individuals, small business owners were upset, including council member James Harris.
With Tuesday night being only the first reading for the ordinance, emotions will continue to rise through the second and final reading in the upcoming city council meetings.
