Lima Ohio -
Lima Memorial Health System hosting their 18th annual Celebration of Life on Sunday, as part of the 25th national Cancer Survivor's Day. The guests of honor, all of those men and women who have defeated or are living with cancer.
Allowing cancer survivors to come together to share stories and connect with one another is one of the reasons the event continues to run. It is also one of the main reason's Allison Buehler was able to pull through her battle with cancer at the young age of 26.
One of those people Allison was able to admire was Dorothy Kohorst, who is a six year survivor of breast cancer, and a three year survivor of appendix cancer. For Dorothy, serving as an inspiration is something that keeps her going.
The bonding and emotional aspect of the event keeps planner Nora Fought and others looking forward to next year's event.
The purpose of Cancer Survivor's Day is to celebrate the life of those men and women who have survived his and her cancer battles, and remember those individuals who lost their lives.
