Schoonover Pool: Opening Day

For the 72nd year, Schoonover Pool opens its doors today to area residents, helping people beat the weekend heat.

Located on State Route 81, on the edge of town, the pool brings in thousands of people each year. Opening day was seen as a success with a few hundred people surrounding the pool on Saturday, and if the summer weather is anything like this weekend's, pool managers expect a good year.

Schoonover pool will be open all summer from noon to 7PM, and serves as a way for residents to stay cool, until it closes on August 5th.
