A three year old girl clings to life at this hour after nearly drowning late this afternoon.
The child was swimming at the Ottawa Metro Park Beach just after four p.m. when family members noticed she wasn't around.
A lifeguard was notified but it was a family member that actually found the little girl, face down, in about two feet of water between the blue waterslide and the shoreline.
A lifeguard then rushed the girl to the bathhouse where CPR was administered. Bath Township Fire and Rescue then transported the girl to Lima Memorial Hospital.
Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Parks District Director Kevin Haver says there were about 250 people at the beach and six or seven lifeguards on duty at the time of the incident.
While at Lima Memorial Haver said the little girl was conscious, alert and crying but was lifeflighted to a Dayton hospital as a precaution.
