After 50 years in the Hardin County Courthouse basement, the Extension Office is moving.
They're relocating to the Title Building because the Board of Elections needs a first-level space to keep up with new accessibility guidelines. The Extension Office contains four departments, including Agriculture and Natural Resources and Family and Consumer Sciences, which helps people with money management. 4-H Youth Educator Mark Light said relocating will come as a surprise to many people.
"Hardship for us is having been in this space for a number of years. Just picking up and moving is gonna be a challenge. Letting everybody know where we're gonna be is our main concern," said Light.
Light says it's important to get the word out that the Extension Office is just moving. Light says he's worried that people might think the Extension Office is gone for good if the message about the new location isn't heard.
