Ottawa Village council members tonight considering a couple of resolutions concerning a controversial road project in Putnam County.
Both resolutions deal with the process of granting easements to the county for property the village owns along road 5. That property was part of the waterline that runs between Ottawa and Bluffton.
Mayor Dean Meyer says the village council needs to pass the resolutions before the county can proceed with the road 5 widening project.
Many residents along road 5 are objecting to the project due to the anticipated increase in truck traffic along that route.
Village council only passed one of the resolutions and tabled the other pending a review by the village attorney.
