New Program for Teens to Promote Positive Choices

Posted: Updated:

Finding positive productive activities for teens to do this summer is the objective.

It's called "My Town, My Street, My Home" a program designed for children 12 to 14 to encourage them to make good decisions and positive choices in helping others in their community.

It is the second program stemming from the Allen County Opiate Task Force promoting prescription drug abuse prevention.

The first was teen night at the mall.

The "My Town" project hopes to promote personal and civic pride through community service.

Kids can sign up to work with neighborhood associations, health partners, and Kazooby to earn prizes for hours of volunteering their services.

You can sign up on line at www.pvff.org.

Kids will receive coupons for their efforts that they can redeem for free prizes at several area businesses.
