Emotions ran high as the entombed time capsule was opened Wednesday evening. For a few select individuals that were in Findlay 50 years ago, the moment held extra importance. Gerry Fenberg was in his early 20's when he helped add items to the capsule.
Gerry Fenberg said, "when they buried the capsule, nobody really thought about 50 years from now. They were worried about what they were going to do next week. Nobody thought they were even going to be around 50 years later."
Inside the capsule there was everything from 1962 high school football schedules to even a signed picture of President JFK with a letter of congratulations to the city of Findlay for its 150th anniversary. While the next generation of Findlay citizens admired what they seen they looked forward to adding to the next capsule.
Valerie Kidd said, "Maybe some news paper articles of special events, a cell phone and a flash drive just to see how different it is in the future."
As for Kendra Brannan and her thoughts on the next time capsule the verdict is still out!
Kendra Brannan said, I can't really see myself in 50 years, but I kind of want to see and come back.
