LIMA, OHIO -
A Lima man will spend time in prison for his part in a robbery from Rays Supermarket.
Allen County Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey Reed sentenced 21 year old Giovanni Pellegrini to three years behind bars on a robbery count. Prosecutors say Pellegrini worked at the south Cable Road Rays store when he gave details to Mike Pasterchik about when and where the store's nightly deposit was made. Pasterchik and Adam Reed robbed an employee of the deposit bag as she took it to Huntington Bank, making off with nearly ten grand in cash and another five thousand dollars in checks. Pellegrini blames his drug addiction for what he calls actions and acquaintances outside the norm for him.
Pellegrini will be eligible for parole after six months. Several character witnesses spoke on his behalf including Shawnee Superintendent Paul Nardini. Pasterchik and Reed were also sentenced to three years in prison.
The trio will have to pay back what was stolen from the Rays store.
