911 tapes of Rally in the Square accident released

Posted: Updated:

Lima police have just released the 911 tapes of Friday night's crash in Lima's Town Square.

Those tapes reveal a frantic situation moments after a woman drove her car into the crowd.

But there are still more questions than answers into what caused the woman to drive her car into a crowd at the Rally in the Square injuring dozens of people, some seriously.

Police are still not releasing many details like the names of those hurt or the name of the driver.

With so many people hurt and a chaotic accident scene, Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin admits some evidence might have been compromised.

The woman's car has been impounded and will be thoroughly inspected to find if there was a mechanical problem that could have led to the accident.

Chief Martin did tell us that he doesn't believe the driver of the car intentionally drove her vehicle into the crowd and calls the incident simply a "tragic accident".
