OTTAWA, OHIO -
The first county fair of the area is now officially underway.
The 157th annual Putnam County Fair kicked off this morning.
The week long event will have a lot of entertainment for people of all ages, including comedy shows, music acts and exotic animals. New this year is the elephant encounter.
All veterans and seniors over age 62 were admitted for free all day. The Junior Fair got underway as well with the rabbit and goat judging showmanship. Organizers says visitors can also enjoy fair food favorites, carnival rides and games all week long.
