Council supports Square Rally, but urges road modification

Posted: Updated:

City council members also mentioned the accident on Lima's town square that occurred last Friday night. Council members wanted to make sure that the entire community keeps those injured in the thoughts and prayers of everyone while a number of victims are healing or still in the hospital.

Councilors Sam McLean and Jesse Lowe both called what happened a freak accident.

They are waiting for all the facts to come out and believe that the way the street is set up needs to be monitored or changed for Friday nights during the summer.

They say Rally in the Square is a good community event that brings people together.

Police are still not releasing many details like the names of those hurt or the name of the driver from Friday night's accident at Rally in the Square.

As of right now, investigators aren't ruling anything out and are still awaiting the results of toxicology tests done on the driver.
