Marching With Faith, Saving the Community

Men of Faith incorporates a love for the community, a love for God and a way to lead the young minds in Lima. The men walk the streets each month, spreading their faith and improving the community one prayer at a time.

Dion Lewis has marched with Men of Faith since their first steps nearly three years ago. Today, he continues to lead the way with vocal praises and songs. As a father and a man of God, Dion sees it as his responsibility to be a good role model for his kids and for area teens.

Marching down the streets and making their presence known is only part of the groups efforts. Along the way the men stopped to pray for businesses and residents. One of those residents, Renee Hyde, was brought to tears while the men prayed for her. She sees the marches as an influential part of improving the city, as each of the men serve as the perfect role model.

The efforts of Men of Faith grabbed the attention of 13-year-old Fred Dove, who was one of the days youngest marchers, but says he hopes others see the benefits of joining the march.

Men of Faith will march again in July, as they choose a different part of the city to focus on, and march the streets, spreading the word of God.
