A couple of Octogenarians took a leap of faith, out of an airplane today. But it was fate that brought these two Blue Star Mothers together over the skies of Allen County.
A chance meeting on a bus on Veterans Day in New York City led to this moment over the Allen County Airport...Marjorie Bryan of Lima doing a tandem jump with a member of The Ranger Group, which consists of former military parachutists.
A member of The Ranger Group told Bryan and Marianna Sherman of Kenton that it was this group that skydived with President HW Bush when Bush turned 85. That intrigued Bryan.
Bryan and Sherman, who are Blue Star Mothers, along with a handful of other people went through a training session to prepare them for the jump.
Sherman wasn't too sure about jumping out of a perfectly good plane.
Despite some early jitters Sherman's jump went without a hitch.
The Ranger Group will be doing sky diving demonstrations at the Allen County Fairgrounds Sunday starting around 11:45 am and admission is free.
