St. Marys, Ohio -

The man accused of dumping the body of a dog in grand lake St. Marys settles his case.

43 year old Mardie Biederman of Panama City, Florida was scheduled to be arraigned in Auglaize County Municipal Court for failing to report a dog attack. Instead, he filed a written guilty waiver and has paid court costs and fines. The total fee comes to $132.30.

The dog was found inside of a cage floating in a channel near the Rustic Haven Campground on Grand Lake St. Marys earlier this month. Investigators initially believed the dog had been drowned. However, according to an investigation by the Auglaize County Dog Warden, Biederman shot the dog after it attacked a person. He then disposed of the dog's body by dumping it in the lake. Dog Warden Russ Bailey says the case is now closed.
