Lima Towers Evacuated

Many Lima residents are still without power this evening and that has prompted the evacuation of more than 50 senior citizens from one apartment building.

Management at the Lima Towers on S. Main St. decided to start the evacuation as a precaution after their backup generator failed.

Many of those evacuated went to live with relatives, while others were taken to Forest Park United Methodist church, where the Red Cross has set up a cooling station.

The company that owns the building is busy trying to locate more generators so the remaining residents can continue to cope with the situation until the power is restored.
