A funeral home in Cridersville is selling the same product used on 9/11 monuments in New York City, honoring fallen heroes. Bayliff and Son Funeral Home is the first in the area to acquire this important device in remembering loved ones.

Cridersville's Bayliff and Son Funeral Home purchased a memory medallion-- a digital memory device the size of a half-dollar. The small gadget holds unlimited texts, 999 photos with captions and five videos. Funeral Director Valery Fultz says it's an easy way to preserve family history.

"This was a simple way to have something attached to a monument, some place of remembrance so that people could go on and see the life stories of generations past", said Fultz.

Once purchased, the device is simple to use. Each customer is given a username and password to log in to the memory medallion website. Once they're signed in, they can begin writing stories about their loved one, as well as uploading pictures and video.

Anybody with a smartphone can access the information by just scanning your phone against the medallion. The QR (Quick Response) code inserted in the medallion points users to the website.

The medallion is also weather proof, so rain or shine, the memory of loved ones live on.
