It is a happy ending to what could have been an incredibly tragic story.
8 year old Jemiel Hall nearly drowned at the Econolodge pool in Lima on June 23rd.
A bystander pulled him from the pool and to the amazement of many Jemiel's 11 year old sister Shemya began performing C-P-R on her little brother who had been underwater for an estimated 6 minutes.
For the heroic effort, which helped to save her brothers life, Lima Memorial Health System Tuesday presented Shemya with a certificate, a reminder to her and her brother about that day that nearly changed their lives forever.
Jemiel was taken to Lima Memorial, then transported to Children's Medical Center in Dayton. Four days after the near drowning he was released with no ill effects from the incident
