It's hotter than a firecracker on the Fourth of July.
Over at Indian Lake they're celebrating the fourth holiday today and it's just as hot today as it was on the fourth.
Luckily today should be the end of the streak of super hot days and that's good news for those sweltering in the heat.
Many sought the cooler water of Indian Lake, others found a shady spot near a bath house.
Cynthia Kelly and Susan Lucia who were childhood friends are originally from Atlanta Georgia but now live at Indian Lake year round.
Kelly says she can't remember a hotter summer up here.
Both women are doing what they can to keep cool, and that might mean doing something a bit drastic according to Lucia. She says she might jump into the lake "fully clothed."
Because of the extreme heat, both women say they'll head back to their Indian Lake home before the fireworks begin tonight.
