There is another problem on top of recovering from last week's storm in Delphos, and it's causing quite the stink.

A fishy situation in Delphos has residents very upset with how maintenance to the canal is being handled.  Imagine draining a body of water full of fish and then adding 90 degree temperatures into the mix for a few days.

Can you picture that scene? It's a reality in Delphos for one businessman that lives next to the canal.

Besides the smell of decaying fish, residents are upset at how the Ohio department of natural resources engineers just simply drained the cancel and allowed the fish to die in such a manner.

Once the word got out that the fish where dying the fish and wild life officers were called to scene. In Delphos, We contacted ODNR as to why they drained the canal the way that they did. ODNR replied that the canal was opened Tuesday for the Department of Public Safety to fix the walls, cat walk of the canal and a culvert under the rail road tracks. They say the canal has been drained four times in the last ten years.

Maintenance is scheduled for the next month.
