Its been just over four years since Army Specialist Jon Michael Schoolcraft was laid to rest for making the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Iraq.
For Schoolcraft's mother, the new memorial at Veteran's Memorial Park solidifies his memory and all who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cindy Hooker "Schoolcraft" said "The monument meant the world to her, and the community came together to make it happen. "
Medic Specialist Andrea Stauffer goes over seas in three months and feels honored to be part of a community that honors their fallen heroes like Schoolcraft.
Andrea Stauffer said "I went to school with his brother and we graduated the year that he passed, so all I remember is all the support coming from the community "
Current and former members of the armed forces say the monument shows how much the community supports members of the military.
Captain Chris Ballard said "For a small town to put up a monument and say this is our guy, and we support him all the way, from beginning to end, is a humbling experience. "
